Introducing WAP’s Incoming CEO Debi Ellison

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

I would like to introduce myself. I am Debi Ellison, the incoming CEO for Workers Assistance Program, Inc. (WAP). I have had the pleasure of being part of the WAP family for over thirteen years. During that time, I have contributed to the health and growth of this organization in my past roles as Quality Management Director, Grant Operations Director and Chief Operating Officer. These roles have allowed me to closely collaborate with various programs and departments in delivering exceptional services and results to our funders and clients. As CEO, I look forward to furthering WAP’s commitment to serve workplaces, schools, and communities around the country. It is an incredible honor to lead and support this great organization made up of talented and caring professionals. We are making a difference in people’s lives everyday.

Who am I?

I was born and raised in Austin. I graduated from St. Edwards University, where I studied Business Administration and Management. I have been married for six years to my loving husband, Jonathan. We have three pets, our Bloodhound, Shelby, and our two cats, Sonny and Wheeler. My husband and I both love classic cars and auto racing. I am an avid reader and collector of music, but above all, I draw strength and energy from my family and friends.

Why am I here?

I am dedicated to building upon the longstanding and well-established reputation of WAP through continued dedication to providing first-class services to our clients. I am also focused on the success of all employees, allowing our programs to grow, and enrich lives.

Why are we here?

As an organization, WAP strives to create better workplaces, schools and communities through our various programs focused on mental health, substance abuse prevention, and providing services to those in need. We provide customer-driven programs that make a difference in peoples’ lives. Through our service and integrity, WAP is helping people everyday.

What do we do now?

The future of WAP is bright. We have been a leader in serving communities since 1977, and I intend to continue WAP’s commitment to improving the lives of those we reach. My priority as CEO will be the expansion of our already substantial service area and funding sources.

As we move forward together, my goal is to make our services more streamlined and accessible online thereby improving functionality. This will allow us to reach more people and positively affect more lives. We will evaluate community needs, potential new funding opportunities, and provide our existing and potential clients with a higher level of excellence through improved collection of impact data from our programs.

More importantly, WAP will stand as a role model of support and caring by helping enrich the overall health, well-being and quality of life for others. I look forward to working with you and strengthening our relationship in the future.
